Northeast of Olympos, on the edge of Vroukounta cape, you will find a large natural cave which has been inhabited since the Minoan- Mycenaean era. You can see the ruins and the carved tombstones of the ancient city if you enter the bay by boat. At the tip of the peninsula there is a cave in the memory of St. John Vroukounta. The largest and most important festival of Karpathos takes place here on August 28-29.
